This song was written to express the feeling of following the rules and being promised the world. But you have not been explained all the rules and have been playing the game the wrong way. When you start to realize your expectations are not coming true, the feeling of frustration that emerges from not living up to your 'potential' becomes a snowball created from tripping on yourself.
